Title: HydroLearn Module Development: Advancing CIROH’s Research-to-Operations Pipeline Through Virtual Hackathon and Workshop Innovation

Abstract: With CIROH’s support, HydroLearn conducted a virtual hackathon and module development workshop in January 2025, which involved 18 faculty fellows and resulted in the creation of nine high-quality learning modules. This initiative represents a strategic shift toward operational hydrology training, with six modules designed explicitly for operational hydrologists and working professionals, directly supporting CIROH’s research-to-operations mission. The remaining three modules target higher education applications. Our comprehensive approach included intensive collaborative development, rigorous subject-matter and education expert reviews, and innovative virtual hackathon methodologies. This poster presents project outcomes including workshop effectiveness, module topics and applications, and the collaborative development process.
