Title: Parallel Calibration Tool
Presentation Type: Poster Presentation
Abstract: Collaborations with the APRFC and field campaigns to develop data-driven streamflow and stream temperature models for Alaska
Abstract: We introduce a parallel calibration tool for hydrologic modeling that substantially reduces the time required to tune model parameters while maintaining physically based simulation workflows. By distributing calibration trials across multiple processors, the tool enables hydrologists to explore parameter uncertainty faster, compare alternatives sooner, and iterate on hypotheses without long turnaround times. It integrates directly with established modeling and routing components and provides streamlined outputs for rapid interpretation. This approach shortens the calibration cycle from days to hours in many research settings, making large-basin studies and multi-scenario analyses more feasible. The result is a practical path toward more efficient, reproducible hydrologic research and quicker insight into model behavior.
