Enabling collaboration through data and model sharing with CUAHSI HydroShare

CIROH research necessitates collaboration, data and model sharing, easy to use, generally accessible, shareable computing, and working together as a team and community. The Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science, Inc. (CUAHSI) HydroShare platform enables best (FAIR, Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) practices for data sharing and collaboration, and for improving reproducibility and reusability of research outcomes, through sharing and publishing both the data and models and analyses that underpin research findings. This workshop will provide information on using HydroShare for collaboration and data and model sharing in CIROH, including links between HydroShare and CIROH computing.
Learning Outcomes:
- Attendees will be able to create a HydroShare resource, populate it with metadata to share with a colleague or make it public
- Attendees will know the findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable principles required by journals for open research data publication
- Attendees will know how to use JupyterHub computing platforms linked to HydroShare to develop reproducible workflows for their computational analyses and models
Prerequisites:
- Attendees should join CUAHSI Hydroshare (www.hydroshare.org) by creating a CUAHSI single sign on account or registering their ORCID account for connection to CUAHSI.
- Attendees should join the CUAHSI Cloud Computing group in HydroShare (https://www.hydroshare.org/group/156) so that they are set up to access linked JupyterHub computing platforms.
- Attendees should bring their own laptops set up to connect to the conference wifi.
