TEEHR Workshop

Using TEEHR to explore, compare and evaluate streamflow simulations from different model formulations

Day 3 Session 2 (1:30 PM MDT)

Presenters:

Matt Denno
RTI International

Katie van Werkhoven
RTI International

Sam Larmont
RTI International

In this workshop attendees will complete an evaluation of multiple hydrologic model formulations from beginning to end, comparing a baseline (retrospective 3.0) to two other research formulations (as they related to observations). This will include model output processing and data formatting, exploring the model output, setting up a TEEHR database, adding attributes and user defined fields, building metric queries, and building visualizations comparing the performance of each model formulation to the baseline. The TEEHR documentation will be referenced heavily.

Learning Outcomes:

After attending the workshop attendees will be familiar with the TEEHR documentation and be able to setup and evaluate the performance of their own model formulations and make comparisons to baseline models

Prerequisites:

It would be helpful if attendees participated in last year’s TEEHR workshop, but not necessary as we will walk attendees though the process. Attendees will also find following along easier if they have some coding and scripting experience and have used Python (basic usage). Users only need a laptop with a browser and a GitHub account to participate. All data will be obtained during the workshop from public sources are provided by the presenters.

Attendees are encouraged to peruse the TEEHR documentation located at https://rtiinternational.github.io/teehr/index.html
